How to tag existing clips with AI

Once AI tagging is set up, you can let it loose on clips you already have. You do this from the Search tab, one at a time or in bulk.

One clip at a time

Open a result and choose AI tag, or Suggest tags (AI), to have the AI look at that clip and propose tags. Review what comes back and keep what fits. This is great for a single shot you want labeled well.

Many clips at once

Choose Select in Search, tick the assets you want, then use the bulk AI tag action to process them together. It’s the fastest way to catch up on a backlog of untagged footage.

Add to existing vs refresh

You’ll be offered two ways to apply AI tags:

  • Add to existing keeps the tags already on the clip and adds the new AI suggestions on top.
  • Refresh AI tags removes the asset’s current AI tags and re-tags from scratch. Importantly, any tags you added by hand are kept, so you won’t lose your own work.

What gets skipped

AI tagging works from frames, so audio and source assets are skipped because there are no frames to analyze. Tag those by hand as usual.
