How to manage your tags

Over time your list of tags can grow messy. The Tags tab is where you keep it clean. Use Search tags… at the top to jump to a tag quickly.

Renaming and merging

On any tag, choose Rename to change its wording everywhere it is used. If you rename a tag to a name that already exists, saving will merge them, so both sets of clips end up under one tag. This is the easiest way to fix near-duplicates like “sunset” and “sunsets” without retagging anything by hand.

Coloring your tags

Tag colors come from a palette, and the default is purple. On a tag, choose Change color to pick a different one. Choose Manage colors to edit the palette itself, and editing a color recolors every tag using it at once. Colors make scanning a long tag list much faster.

Cleaning up

To remove a tag completely, choose Delete on it. When you have been tidying for a while, use Delete orphan tags to remove tags that aren’t on any clip, which is simple housekeeping that keeps your list focused on tags you actually use.
