Getting started with Brolla
What Brolla is
Brolla is a desktop app for video creators to archive and reuse their b-roll — video clips, audio, and images — all in one searchable library.
1. Create or open a library
Everything lives inside a library: a self-contained folder holding your media, thumbnails, and a small database. On the Library tab choose Create new or Open existing.
On the free plan you can use one library of up to 50 assets. Activating a license unlocks unlimited libraries and assets.
2. Add your first assets
Use Import Assets to copy files in as-is, or Trim & Export to cut a segment from a longer source. On the first video/audio import, Brolla downloads FFmpeg once for thumbnails and export.
3. Tag as you go
Add tags at import, while trimming, or later from Search. Connect an AI provider in Settings – AI to auto-suggest tags.
4. Find anything in Search
Type a filename, tag, or note. Filter by type, date, tag, or favorites; switch list/gallery; drag clips into your editor.
